Dante Foschi History Museum

Dante Foschi History Museum

The museum, founded thanks to donations from the members of the National Association of War Invalids, houses a collection of historical relics from World War I, the Ethiopian war and World War II (weapons, coins, commemorative badges, flags, postcards and uniforms) as well as a collection of 43 paintings by the painter Maceo Casadei. Divided into two floors, the building refers directly to a well-known and widespread style in Forlì, with its polished travertine slabs covering the front. Designed by Cesare Bazzani, the project is characterized by a mature and thoughtful reflection on the classical world. Among the many memories of World War I, significant both for their human and historical value, those linked to Fulcieri Paulucci di Calboli (1893-1919) are particularly noteworthy.
